Question 6:

A) How long is the bridge?
B) when was it built?
C) one lane? (There is so little traffic, most of the bridges are very short and one lane. We have only seen a traffic light or a stop sign in Reykjavik.)

So – this is a very long bridge on a glacial flood plain. Every few years, the bridge gets washed away. They do not see any point in making a more expensive bridge (I.e. wider).

So they made pull-over spots to allow two vehicles to pass. Six of them – about every 1/2 km. which makes the bridge about 3 km long.
