The oddest thing
I’ve been north (and south, for that matter) before. Except I was always on a boat – and on a boat, you can’t tell which way is east by looking out a window because the boat moves and the window orientation changes.
So, while the daylight is indeed long, I have somehow missed the part where the sun rotates around the sky entirely.

And the sun ducked behind a mountain for a few minutes, came out the other side and continued its trek across the sky. All the way around. Our little cottage has windows on 4 sides – and the sun uses all of them.

Isn’t that an awesome sight? Growing up in Alaska,I never got tired of the incredible summer light. Of course the flip side happens mid-December, when the sun just peeks up over the edge of the world and ducks back down.
