But, really, the dog comes first

Dog Day, part 2 (the pictures)
Feb 10th
Pix are from Wednesday, my Dog Day (when I kidnapped two huskies * to bring them to visit with their favorite person in the whole world **)

They may have been excited. It’s hard to tell with the one in the back seat:
x
x
He certainly had a lot to say about the trip. ***
x
But then they romped and visited with friends and explored,
x
x
There may have been some mud.
x
x
And then we came home.
x
*of the canine variety, the UConn version can be found here
**other than the people they live with, of course. The person (and dogs) that we were visiting has recently moved and we haven’t seen her in about 5 weeks.
*** there was one moment, when we came out through a tunnel into a city landscape, and he was very. very. quiet.
And F is for fiber

I hate having my picture taken. Hate it.
It’s much better to be on the other side of the camera.
So sometimes a friend asks if I’ll take a picture of their dogs.
x
Sure. I like dogs. I like taking pictures. I like you – that’s kind of a ‘win’ all around.
And then I hope for a warm dry day.

Oh thank goodness for digital and a sunny day: I took 400 pix of that dog in motion.
Reason #256 not to use a flash. Ever.

Demon Eyes.
x

There is not one fixable picture from the entire night. /Note to self: learn to use flash or buy better lights
x
I have an entire evening of pictures with demon eyes. /sigh
x
This is Oscar. (He was visiting. And his timing was just perfect – I’d just finished pulling the turkey off the carcass and setting the remains to make stock. I’d, of course, made a mess. Oscar may be small but he was right on it.)
x
p.s. Those eyes in the background are Ned’s. Nickie was in hiding – what with Oscar being so close in size and Not-Cat, she couldn’t handle it.
p.p.s. Yes, I brought another dog into the house just to add the mix from the last post.
More things I’m thankful for
Nov 25th
1. I am thankful for camera disks. It seems that every time I look at one, this smiling face looks back:
x
x
And I spend an inordinate amount of time looking at old photos.
2. It occurred to me too late in Aurora’s life to do a year of Headless Dog pix. I’m pretty sure that, some day far far far away, I’ll look back on upside down Ned pix with the same sense of nostalgia:
x

He has not quite given up on getting fish, but he's more patient - this is how he waits for me in the kitchen, while I cook.
x
In the meantime, I trip over him.
3. And the faceless purrball:

4. And I am thankful for digital cameras.

Without which, I’d never have a reasonable dog picture.

p.s. I’m missing two dogs – I didn’t get a decent picture of Tankah or Blue.
